Working Groups and the Poster Session—Milwaukee 2012
If you missed out on a session proposal for the next NCPH annual
meeting, never fear, there are more opportunities to participate. On
September 15, we will issue the call for Working Groups and one for
the Poster Session.  There will be 11 Working Groups at the

2012 Awards Call is Open
NCPH has upped the prize amount for the Excellence in Consulting Award
and revamped the guidelines for others.  Submissions for most NCPH
awards <http://ncph.org/cms/awards/> are due December 1; submissions
for the book prize are due November 1.  Why not nominate your work or
a colleague's today?
 
NCPH Civil War Session at AASLH
NCPH has organized a special session for the 2011 Annual Meeting of
the American Association for State and Local History, 8:30 a.m.,
Friday, Sept. 16, in Richmond, VA: “Secession and the Confederacy:
Issues for Local History Sites.” Panelists include NCPH President
Marty Blatt, former chief historian of NPS Dwight Pitcaithley, author
Jim Loewen, and John Coski from the Museum of the Confederacy.

Objects and Memory
PBS will be broadcasting Objects and Memory—a moving documentary shown
at the 2009 NCPH Annual Meeting in Louisville—nationally in
commemoration of the tenth anniversary of 9/11.  It's on the national
schedule for Sunday, September 11, at 4pm, but as each station sets
its schedule, please check local listings.
