The Hartman Center for Sales, Advertising & Marketing History at Duke
University announces the debut of the ROAD 2.0 website. ROAD 2.0
(Resource of Outdoor Advertising Descriptions) includes over 30,000
images of outdoor advertising and related topics found in the Hartman
Center's collections. Keyword searchable and browseable, the ROAD
2.0 database of images allows users to learn more about outdoor
advertising and its impact on cultural history.
The Hartman Center is part of Duke University's Rare Book, Manuscript,
and Special Collections Library and documents the history of advertising,
sales and marketing. It collects the archives of ad agencies, trade
associations, people who worked in these industries and other collections
related to these topics.
Funding to make the ROAD 2.0 website possible came from a NHPRC
grant.
ROAD 2.0 is available here.
From Canada's longest running Public History program, a source for public history news, conference calls, recent publications, & grant & job ads.
